This summer, there are spa days, paddle boarding, museums and morning yoga in the cards. Now that BC has entered phase 3, Harmony Whistler Vacations will be here for you so that you can feel at home in the mountains.  This week we are featuring Alpine Greens as part of our ‘Whistler Vacation Inspiration’, a women’s weekend away. 

FRIDAY ARRIVAL

Feel at Home in the Mountains at 'Alpine Greens'

As you enter your holiday home you will be greeted with a fantastic mudroom with a bench and ample space. Make your way down the hall and you will find both downstairs bedrooms with two twin beds in each. Next to the bedrooms is the main bathroom with a beautiful big shower and a washer/dryer for your convenience. Continue through to the open plan kitchen/living/ dining area with vaulted ceilings and large picture windows bringing the beautiful Whistler nature right inside the home and providing ample natural lighting. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need to cook from home and comes with a lovely breakfast bar for a social atmosphere. The living room features a wood-burning fireplace to cozy up to after a day of exploring the mountains, plenty of comfy seating and a large flat screen tv with cable for indoor entertainment. The dining area is extremely spacious and will comfortably seat 6. You will find a small balcony off the living area with a BBQ to enjoy the fresh mountain air. Upstairs will lead you to the master bedroom w/ a king-sized bed for a great nights sleep. The walk-in closet will provide more than enough space for all of your belongings and the impressive en-suite features a double vanity, soaker tub plus walk-in shower. There is even a small Juliet balcony among the treetops. You will be sure to find relaxation with all the amenities of home in this beautiful property, perfect for a women’s weekend away for you and 4 of your friends. 

Scandinave Spa

Once you have arrived in Whistler, you head straight to the Scandinave Spa for an afternoon of massages and baths before heading to your home for the weekend. 

No matter the season or time of day, you will always find complete relaxation at the Scandinave Spa. With a range of massage types, bathes and even a bistro, escape the daily routine in a peaceful and natural environment.

DINNER - Takeout Samurai Sushi

After a relaxing afternoon at the spa, you pick up sushi and take it home to enjoy in the comfort of your holiday home. 

Featuring fast, consistent service with a focus on quality meals, Samurai Sushi has been a locals favourite since 1987.

Local Tip:  Can’t decide on what to order? We recommend the Party Tray – loaded with an assortment of Sushi Rolls, Tuna/Salmon Nigiri, Chicken Kara-age, Teriyaki Chicken/Beef, Edamame and Miso soup. It’s a great sharing option. 

SATURDAY – Earl’s Brunch

Before a big day of taking in Whistler’s art culture and an afternoon of manicure’s and pedicures, it’s brunch at Earl’s.

Not just a place for food and drinks, Earl’s is a place to connect, a helping hand, a space to make memories, build relationships, and come back time and time again.

Local Tip: Our staff favourite is the Avocado Super Benedict – Two poached eggs, smashed avocado, classic hollandaise, on toasted artisan bread, with crispy potatoes. Pair this with a cold brew coffee and baileys for a delicious meal. 

Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre

After brunch you and your friends walk up to the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre where you will learn more about the Squamish and Lil’wat Nations. 

The Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre is the first centre of its kind in Canada.
Designed to evoke the form of a Squamish Longhouse and Lil’wat Istken (earthen dwelling), the SLCC in Whistler’s Upper Village stunningly embodies the spirit of partnership between two unique Nations who wish to preserve, foster, and share their traditional cultures with the world.

Audain Art Museum

After you have experienced and explored the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, you and your friends walk down to the Audain Art Museum

With unique and evolving exhibitions from Canada and around the world, the Audain Art Museum encourages a life-changing experience for appreciating the art of British Columbia.  

LUNCH - Basalt Wine & Salumeria

After a wonderful morning learning more about the arts and culture it’s time for a later lunch before the spa. 

Providing seasonally inspired menus, Basalt is conveniently located on the village stroll and is the perfect spot for a glass of wine and food with friends.

Local Tip:  Our staff favourite are any of their amazing charcuterie boards, perfect for sharing. 

Manicure's and Pedicure's at Whistler Day Spa

Following a light but delectable lunch, you make your way over to Whistler Day Spa.

Located in the Pan Pacific Village Centre Hotel, Whistler Day Spa creates a warm and inviting environment where you can unplug, reset and let someone else take care of you for a change. 

Local Tip: We recommend the Deluxe Pedicure. This luxury pedicure includes extra time for those feet that need serious TLC. Treatment includes foot soak, nail care, cuticle work, extra time for callus work, foot scrub, extended foot massage, hydrating foot foam application and regular polish.

DINNER - 21 Steps

Once your nail’s have dried after an afternoon of manicure’s and pedicure’s, you and your friend’s head over to 21 Steps for dinner, conveniently located just down the stairs from the spa. 

Locally owned and operated restaurant located in the heart of Whistler Village, 21 Steps is a casual restaurant committed to great modern comfort food and generous portions.

Local Tip: We recommend ordering a few small plates to share amongst the table. 

SUNDAY

YOGA at YYOGA

Before a delicious breakfast at Wildwood, you and your friends make your way down to YYOGA, located in Function Junction,  for a morning yoga class to get your day started. 

Known as a cozy and comforting little getaway, YYOGA offers a variety of yoga classes and has been a gathering spot for yogis for ten years.

Local Tip: Don’t forget to pack your bag with a swim suit and towel for your afternoon at Lakeside Park. 

BREAKFAST - Wildwood

Whether it was hot yoga or flow this morning, you and your friends are ready for a big breakfast.

Located in Function Junction (just down the road from YYOGA), Wild Wood Cafe offers everything from their famous Eggs Bennies, Omelettes and Banana Bread French Toast.

Local Tip: Our staff favourite are any of their famous eggs bennies.  All come with poached eggs, feature toppings, on toasted english muffin, with pan fries and homemade hollandaise sauce.

Whistler Olympic Park

After a filling breakfast you and your friends drive down Highway 99 to the Whistler Olympic Park and experience the Olympic legacy. 

Feel like an Olympian at the Whistler Olympic Park with this unique and safe hands-on introduction to the winter sport biathlon – in the summer! In this interactive experience, guests learn to take aim and shoot a 22 calibre rifle at the Olympic shooting range and learn about the sport and athletes. 

Cure Lounge and Patio

After an exciting morning in Function Junction and the Callahan Valley, you and your friends make your way back to the village, stopping at Cure Lounge and Patio for a cocktail and a small bite.

Located in Creekside, enjoy the views and tranquility of Cure Lounge’s spacious lakefront patio. Relish in their menu made from local ingredients and craft cocktails. 

Local Tip: Head there between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm for happy hour and enjoy a pitcher of sangria for $15. 

Paddle Boarding at Lakeside Park

After a light bite at Cure Lounge, it’s time for a peaceful afternoon on and by Alta lake, paddling around and lounging in the sun, taking advantage of our free activities. 

Enjoy one free adult one hour Stand Up Paddle Board or Single Kayak rental per unit, per paid night stay. Reservation required. Non-cumulative and non-transferable. Unused admissions expire daily.

DINNER - Alta Bistro

Once the sun starts setting on Alta Lake its time to head back home and get ready for dinner. 

Offering modern seasonal alpine cuisine, Alta Bistro is a hidden gem tucked away on Main street in Whistler village. 

Local Tip: Our staff favourite is the Honeycomb Crème Brûlée dessert – Rhubarb jam, Lavander Shortbread and Basil Sherbert.

MONDAY DEPARTURE

Breakfast at Home

It’s your last morning in Whistler and what better way to start the day than with a home cooked breakfast. Take advantage of the homes breakfast bar, spacious dining table and fully stocked kitchen with all the essential amenities to cook at home. 

One Last Adventure - Bear Viewing

After you and your friends have packed up the car, you head into the village for one last adventure in beautiful Whistler. 

Every summer we get excited to see the bears come out of hibernation and start grazing on the flora surrounding Whistler. You may get lucky and spot one from the gondola or on the golf course however your best chances will be with Whistler Photo Safaris. Their award winning photographers can help with pointers and tips for a great photo while the educated guides know the bears individually and where they like to hang out.
