Grocery Stores

Although Whistler is a small village in the mountains, there are 6 great grocery stores to choose from for food shopping. Spanning from Creekside Market to the Independent in Rainbow, you shouldn’t be more than a stones throw away from delicious fresh produce.

There is a larger Independent Grocers in Squamish as well as a Save On Foods if you have a vehicle and time to stop on your way from Vancouver to Whistler, however, if not, you still have plenty of choices once you arrive in our vibrant little town.

Creekside Market

Whistler’s Creekside Market is a full service grocery store that is open daily and is located in the Creekside area of Whistler. They supply the freshest produce, fine meats, seafood, locally baked goods, artisan breads, deli foods and have an amazing in store butcher.

Online shopping is now available 7 days a week with no delivery or pickup fees. They do everything they can to deliver within 30 minutes of your estimated time for your convenience. Minimum order of $40 CAD for delivery and no minimum on pick up orders.

This is the closest option for our properties in Taluswood and Blueberry.

Local Tip: Try the apple and camembert sausages made by the in house butcher

The Whistler Grocery Store

Located in the heart of Whistler in Village Square, The Whistler Grocery Store seeks out the freshest ingredients locally and globally. They provide a mix of products to satisfy the many tastes and dietary needs of our broad customer base.

This smaller grocery store has a friendly local vibe, a variety of salads and sandwiches, a small selection of warm savory options as well as cold drinks. This is the closest grocery option for our guests staying at Carleton Lodge and The Gables.

Local Tip: Try their bocconcini, tomato and basil baguette for a fresh and delicious lunch option.

Fresh St. Market

Located in Marketplace, just off of Lorimer road, Fresh St. Market (previously IGA) is fresh, local and has everything you need for a complete grocery shop. There is a small seated area at the front of the store if you wish to enjoy your fresh purchases before heading off.

Fresh Street Market has a fantastic deli selection and offer to toast sandwiches and pastries (Their leek and Parmesan strudel is amazing heated up). Their sushi selection is made in house and they offer hot soup and curry. They also have a great bakery for sweet treats and coffee to go. With great weekly specials and the option to shop online for collection in store, this is a great option for locals and visitors alike.

Fresh Street Market is the closest grocery store to our homes in the Village North and the most economical option with the largest selection in the village.

Local Tip: Grab a copy of the Pique Newspaper to find a voucher for $10 off a shop of $100.

Upper Village Market

Located in the Upper Village, the Upper Village Market has been family owned and operated for almost 20 years. The upper village market has extended hours and stocks a small selection of essential items including produce, dairy & cheeses, bakery goods and specialty gourmet foods made locally. They also have an instore and online Gift Basket Service!

This is the closest food store for guests staying in the Benchlands.

Local Tip: A great option if you need to quickly grab a few items.

Nester's Market

Nester’s Market, where the locals shop!

Only a few minutes drive from the main village you will find Nesters. They have also been offering home delivery for a number of years and can have your fridge stocked in your vacation home upon arrival so you can get straight into holiday mode. We work closely with Nesters and can give them a one time access code when they call us to have this ready.

Nesters offer a great range of fresh produce, deli items, bakery goods as well as all the usual grocery store findings. There is also a pharmacy connected which you can also include in your online shopping list if need be.

Nesters is the closest grocery store to Nicklaus North.

Local Tip: If you don’t have a loyalty card you can donate your points to the Whistler Animal Shelter, a much loved charity in Whistler.

Independent in Rainbow

Located in Rainbow, about a 5 minute drive north of Whistler is the Independent Grocer. This is the most economical grocery store in town and stocks some great home brand products.

Shop for fruit and veggies, meat and cheese, produce and frozen food plus basic household items.

Local Tip: Grab a large bag of home brand potato crisps for under $2.
