Just another reason to love fall in Whistler! Not only is there a laid back atmosphere and stunning autumn colours but all of our favourite restaurants release their fall dining deals so we can indulge in some of the best cuisines Whistler has to offer at a fraction of the price. For a complete list of daily deals check out Whistler Bites, but for now, we thought we would recap on some of our most beloved restaurants and what you can expect when you dine in Whistler this fall.
Local Tip: With reduced capacity, reservations are highly recommended.
2020 FALL DINING DEALS
21 Steps
21 Steps is located in the heart of Whistler village right opposite the cinema. They serve modern comfort food and strive to make you feel at home while dining out, with a focus on exceptional service.
Their three-course special is only $41 and is available every day! You get to choose a small plate, a big plate, and either a dessert or specialty coffee.
Another reason that we love 21 Steps is that they have an attic with an entirely different casual feel that looks over the restaurant. The attic can also be rented out for private parties with a minimum spend.
If a three-course meal is a little too formal, from Sunday through Thursday, you can take advantage of their second fall offer, order two small plates and get one free. This way you can try a little of everything, tapas-style.
Local Tip: We suggest you study the menu prior to arriving as there is a lot to choose from.
I'l Caminetto
Il Caminetto, where do I start! They are best know for their Italian, however, you can be sure anything on the menu is going to taste fantastic. Working closely with local farmers and producers you can expect the freshest local ingredients personally selected by their executive chef, James Walt.
The deal? A four-course Prix Fixe menu for only $39 available Wednesday to Friday with optional wine pairing. They offer both inside dining or alfresco dining out the front if you enjoy people watching.
Everyone here at Harmony Whistler Vacations has had the pleasure of experiencing Il Caminetto and we would have to agree it’s one of the best restaurants in Whistler.
Local Tip: Their mushroom risotto is divine and we highly recommend the wine pairing as well.
Nagomi Sushi
Nagomi Sushi is located in the upper village and has to be one of my all-time favourite places to get my sushi fix. I’ve dined here countless times and can assure you, you will not leave hungry.
The four-course menu they offer for $30 is great value. The first course is along the lines of soup, salad, edamame, or my favourite, gomaae. The next choice may take a while with a number of sushi sides available. I often upgrade to sashimi which melts in your mouth. TWO rolls of FIVE pieces of Nigiri is the main course and there is always room for a Mochi ball at the end.
Local Tip: Pair your sushi with a delicious beverage. Nagomi also has plenty of drink specials including a sake trio taster, Japanese Whisky or a 10oz wine carafe which perfectly pairs with your sushi dinner.
Araxi
I remember looking into the window of Araxi when I first moved to Whistler over ten years ago and thinking to myself, I could never afford to dine here.
Well, with the dining deals in fall and Araxi celebrating it”s 39th anniversary, dreams do come true. Araxi is offering a FIVE course Prix Fixe from Sunday through Thursday for only $39 that is guaranteed to satisfy. It’s your choice if you want to add in the wine pairing for an additional $39 but I highly recommend it.
Your dining experience will consist of quality farm-to-table ingredients and a menu including soup, risotto, seafood, pasta, and dessert. If you think 5 courses is a lot, remember it’s more about quality over quantity and the amount of food served over the evening is the perfect amount.
Local Tip: Although the dress code in Whistler is casual, we always get a little dressed up when we dine at Araxi.
The Mexican Corner
It’s Fiesta Time! Step into The Mexican Corner just off skiers plaza in the village.
The Mexican Corner is offering their three-course menu for only $23 and every day of the week! Start with a Tostada followed by soup or salad and then enchiladas or tachos for your main. You can upgrade to steak, tuna, or fajitas should you wish or grab some additional items for the table to share.
Experience a fun and unique dining experience with a vibrant atmosphere enjoying authentic traditional Mexican cuisine. Vamos!
Local Tip: Enjoy one of their famous frozen daiquiris to sip while you decide on tonight’s menu.
