Olympic Playground
Located in the Olympic plaza and just steps from the home, you, your family and your furry friend head down to the Olympic playground for some fun before dinner.
Dinner - La Cantina
Dinner tonight is Tacos! You leave your family and go grab take away dinner from La Cantina.
La Cantina offers authentic Mexican street food with a modern twist.
Local Tip: Our staff favourite is of course the tacos! Pair these with Jarritos Mexican Pop for a tasty dinner.
Dessert - Cows
What better way to end your first day than with ice cream. Once you have finished your taco dinner, you and your family take your dog for a walk over to COWS Creamery for some ice cream. COWS Ice Cream is handmade and made of the highest quality ingredients.
Local Tip: Cow’s Creamery offers more than just ice cream. Check out their apparel items and candy in the retail section of their store.
FRIDAY
You’re starting to feel at home in the mountains on Friday morning as you, your family and dog head out the door to take a little drive up to Pemberton.
Don’t forget to pack your bikes, bathing suits and closed toed shoes!
Breakfast – Alpine Cafe
On your way out of Whistler, you stop in at Alpine Cafe for some delicious take away breakfast and coffee.
Alpine Cafe has been owned and operated since 2004 offering homemade soups, baked goods, cooked breakfasts, hearty lunches and dinner specials.
Local Tip: We recommend calling ahead to order your takeout, that way it is ready for you when you arrive.
Nairn Falls
Just before arriving in Pemberton, you pull into the parking lot for the trail to Nairn Falls. This easy 3km round-trip hike leads to an impressive waterfall with two viewing platforms.
Local Tip: We recommend giving yourself about 1.5 hours to complete this trail roundtrip. Please also remember all dogs do need to be on their leash on this trail.
One Mile Lake
About 2km down the road from Nairn Falls, located just at the entrance to Pemberton, is One Mile Lake. This lake is a great spot for swimming, dog walking, biking and lounging. The options are endless!
Stop in here with your family for a pedal around and a dip in the lake before lunch.
Lunch - Mile One Eating House
After a nice little pedal around One Mile lake (and maybe a little swim), it’s time for lunch. You head into the village of Pemberton to Mile One Eating House for a mouthwatering meal and picturesque views of Mount Currie.
One of the best features of Mile One Eating house is that their patio is pet friendly! If you choose seating at their picnic tables that are not licensed for alcohol, your pet can be right at your feet. If you choose to have alcohol, you’ll need to be in their licensed patio area, but at a table that is along the railings. Your pet can be still beside you, but just secured to the perimeter so they’re not really in the dining area. And of course, they require that your pet is leashed at all times.
Local Tip: Our staff favourite is the Char Siu Pork sandwich – slow Roasted Fraser Valley pork belly, fried egg, grilled sweet onion, greens and mayo. Pair this with the Yukon Gold wedges for the perfect lunch.
Pemberton Brewing Company
Surrounded by the beautiful alpine peaks, Pemberton Brewing Company offers a variety of flavourful craft beers.
You and the family head over after lunch to check out their brand new outdoor patio, tasting room, try a flight and fill up a growler with one of their in-house brews.
Local Tip: Pemberton Brewing Company is kid and pet friendly! They do ask you to tie your pet on the other side of the patio and please keep your pet leashed at all times.
Pemberton Farmer's Market
Before leaving Pemberton, you stop in at the Farmer’s Market.
Pemberton Farmer’s Market offers organic veggies, fruits, fresh cut flowers, healthy meats, home baked goodies, nutritious foods, exquisite pottery, relaxing massage and wholesome pet snacks.
Local Tip: Did you know Pemberton is the ‘Seed Potato Capital of North America’? Make sure to pick up a bag of these famous potatoes for tonight’s dinner.
Home Cooked Dinner
After an adventurous day in Pemberton it’s time to head home to Whistler. You take your fresh produce goodies you found at the market and make a home cooked meal for you and your family. Don’t forget to crack open the growler you filled up at the Pemberton Brewing Company!
SATURDAY
Doggy Daycare
Even though you want to, it’s hard to take your pet everywhere with you. Today your furry friend has a date with Whistler Dog Walkers. Your dog will have a great day out with one of their dedicated and experienced locals, who are friendly, professional and love animals.
Brunch - Elements
Elements has been a Whistler local’s favourite since 2005. They never disappoint with ever-changing menus created with a commitment to local meats, produce, and seafood.
Once your pet has been picked up by the dog sitter, it’s time to enjoy Element’s brunch menu.
Local Tip: Our staff favourite is their Stuffed French Toast – thick piece of French bread stuffed with honey ham and double cream brie, with real Canadian maple syrup.
Canadian Wilderness Adventures ATV Tour
After a filling brunch at Elements, you drive to Canadian Wilderness Adventures base camp area in the Callaghan Valley for an afternoon of ATVing.
Canadian Wilderness Adventures will introduce you to the sport of ATVing in a safe and exciting environment. Discover Blackcomb Mountain the “Canadian” way. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Whistler Valley and snowcapped peaks of the Coast Mountain Range.
Local Tip: We recommend booking ahead as this is a very popular activity and books up fast!
And don’t forget your camera!
On your way back down through the Callaghan Valley, take a detour to one of Whistler’s most spectacular waterfalls, Alexander Falls. The waterfall is easy to access by car and the viewing platform is right next to the parking lot, so no walking or hiking is required.
Dinner - The Village Chippy/ Poutine on Main
The Village Chippy / Poutine on Main offer traditional British fish & chips, gourmet burgers with chunky fries and Poutines of all kinds! They have something for everyone, making tonight’s dinner an easy one.
SUNDAY DEPARTURE
One Last Adventure – Bayly Park
Before leaving Whistler, it’s time for one last adventure. Bayley Park is located in Cheakamus Crossing and features a playground for your kids and an ‘off-leash’ area for your dog. This is great place to spend time with your family and let your dog play freely.
